We want to introduce Mama Nicole to you. She started working with us this month, joining Mama Josephine and Agatha. Nicole is a vibrant woman who is a qualified preschool teacher who truly has a heart for teaching and children; we are so thankful to have her at Kwathu as a mama because not only can she care for the children, but also she can push them further in the aspect of education with her wonderful gift.
Over the last few months we have had two awesome people volunteering with us. Jaide and Josh are both from Germany. Jaide has been with us since the beginning of March and her stay is coming to an end in just a couple days. She has been so great, willing to do whatever is needed around the home and spending time with children whether its playing or schoolwork. We are happy to send her back home for now, knowing that she will carry us in her heart and spread the news about Kwathu! Josh came to Kwathu in April and he was such a blessing to us. He also helps out with Tandeka in Germany. We were sad to see Josh leave but we know that the friendship will continue. Thank you both so much for your support of the children in need!
We celebrated two birthdays this month! Obet turned 6 and Francis, our oldest child, turned 12. We celebrated Obet’s birthday with dancing, cake, and a trip to Shoprite. Obet got a remote car just like he wanted, so at Shoprite he chose some yummy things to snack on like an apple and candy to name a couple. How nice of him to share with everyone when he got home! We had a small celebration together with Francis, of course we ate cake (which he helped make), and then Agripa took him to Shoprite. We decided that since he’s getting older something different would be nice, rather than just a birthday party at home. He enjoyed his special day!
