Birthdays
Yet again we celebrate the beautiful lives of Rodia and Lackson. Every day is a blessing to see how big and strong these young people are becoming. The smiles and happiness shared on this day was so memorable.
Kwathu Community School
Kwathu Community School experienced a busy third term, but despite the busyness, the teachers and pupils have managed to add some educational entertainment within their intensive learning schedule. Some of the extra- curricular activities that the children are participating in are;
Story-time: the grade 6 pupils have been doing folktale. This specific activity has helped them think outside the box.
Cultural dances: The kids have thoroughly enjoyed heir cultural dances. Our aim is to make sure the kids do not forget their culture and dances.
Conservation Education: The pupils have planted some trees around the school and have special days that they water and care for them.
Kwathu Community School Local Volunteers: Following the advertisement for volunteers on our Kwathu Facebook page. We were blessed by three lovely individuals who applied to be of help at the organization. For over a month, these lovely individuals have sacrificed their time and energy to be of service to the children. Thank you for contributing toward the vision of Kwathu Ministries.
Jacob: is a classroom assistant for the 6th grade.
Agness: is a classroom assistant for the Pre – school and helps with administration work.
Christine: is the 3rd grade teacher.
We are still open to international volunteers who would like to come and be part of Kwathu Ministries!!
Upcoming Events
It is that time of the year that we begin to prepare for the festive season. This is the busiest period at Kwathu Ministries. We love to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ with everyone. This time around, we are going to have a double Christmas celebration party.
The first celebration will be on the 7th of December 2018 with all the Kwathu Community School children. This date was deliberately selected at this is the last day of their 3rd academic term as they go for their end of year/ term holiday. There will be lots of fun activities and games.
Our second celebration is on the 25th of December with our Kwathu children as we celebrate this day as a family.
Please feel free to send any gifts, as the Lord leads, for the children during this festive season.
Donations
Thank you to everyone who made a donation to Kwathu Ministries this month. Your support towards our mission is forever grateful. Thank you for believing in what we do.
Support
It is by grace that Kwathu Community School is reaching the end of its academic year of 2018. In our bid to provide free education to these less privileged children, we as an organization are not spared from the heavy costs of running the school.
In order for the school to run smoothly, we need USD 2,000 per month. This amount is subdivided into different needs such as:
=> Salaries for teachers and auxiliary staff
=> School teaching materials (Text books, Black board chalk etc.)
=> Students school materials (Books, pencils, erasers, rulers etc.)
=> Water bills
=> Electric bills
It has not been easy for us as an organization to meet the required demands and that is why we need your support. We will be more than grateful if you got involved in making a brighter future for these lovely children. Feel free to choose an area you would love to help. Any contribution made, makes a huge difference for us.
You are also welcome to sponsor a child either on a monthly or termly basis. Your donation will go towards the child’s education and all education necessities.
