JUNE 2022 UPDATE

HOME UPDATE

BIRTHDAYS- Theresa celebrated her 10th birthday on June 12th and she received a gift, and we threw a birthday party for her. Nelia also celebrated her 12th birthday on June 24th, and she had a mini birthday party. In the same month Linto turned 16 on June 25th, he got a gift voucher of monetary form. The birthday girls and boy where grateful for turning a year older.

EXTRA ACTIVITY- Hide and seek game. This simple game needs no preparation or supplies, so you can
play just about anywhere and anytime. All players except for one must quickly find a place to hide. The remaining person is “it” and counts to a number all players have determined ahead of time. When the person who is “it” finishes counting, they loudly declare, “ready or not, here I come!” and start looking for the rest of the players. The game helps our children and their friends practice counting their numbers and the game can also be adjusted for all ages and abilities.

DONATIONS- This month we were so privileged to have received bins of assorted items such as shoes, clothes, tailoring equipment and materials plus many more items. We are so thankful to our partners Grace Klein Community.

KWATHU SCHOOL REPORT
The Month of June was run with less activities. However, lessons continued despite the pronunciation of the closure of school due to lack of financial resources especially on the salaries of teachers. This led to poor attendance of the learners. The grade seven school-based assessments have been submitted for entry to the examination council of Zambia in readiness for the final exams which will commence in October 2022.

VOLUNTEERS
We welcomed our partners and friends from Grace Klein Community who came to serve with us for ten days.

KWATHU TAILORING PROJECT (WE SAW ZAMBIA)
Linda and the team managed to deliver lessons and skills to the women in the tailoring class. On June 29th, the women graduated with certificates in tailoring.

KWATHU CLINIC
This month of June we received some inspectors from District Health Office. We are still pushing for the license operate from the government.

THE FARM
Farm work is going so well and each month we have new developments. We have completed the second fishpond. The second fishpond will also carry about 3,000 fingerings.

GIRL’S TALK
This June on ‘’Girl’s Talk’’ the topic was peer pressure. Peer pressure is the influence wielded by people within the same social group. It is also the term used to describe the effect this influence has on a person to conform in order to be accepted by the group. Dr. Sepiso delivered the lesson.
