HOME UPDATE

BIRTHDAYS- Rozaria turned 18 on February 1st, 2024, and we celebrated her special day this month. She has blossomed into a kind-hearted and joyful young adult who is eager to expand her knowledge and skills.

Rozaria – 18 Years

SCHOOLS- Rozaria, a diligent and ambitious individual, is currently pursuing a tertiary education in accountancy and finance. Charity, on the other hand, is honing her skills at a training school specializing in food production. As for Purity, she is gearing up to start her academic journey in Lusaka next week, where she will be focusing on hospitality and hotel management. It’s wonderful to see each of them pursuing their passions and carving their paths to success!

We are thrilled to welcome Richard Shikampande to our home. He is a wonderful 13-year-old boy who has already brought so much joy and positivity into our lives. We are grateful for the opportunity to open our doors to him and create lasting memories together. Welcome, Richard!

KWATHU SCHOOL REPORT

Due to a Cholera outbreak in Zambia, schools were closed in January and part of February 2024. Our dedicated teachers and volunteers organized extra lessons for the children to ensure their education continues despite the challenging circumstances.

REOPENING OF SCHOOL

On the morning of March 12th, 2024, the much-awaited day arrived when the schools reopened their doors after a long closure caused by a cholera outbreak. Students and teachers alike were filled with excitement and anticipation as they returned to the familiar hallways and classrooms. It was a joyful sight to see everyone back in action, ready to dive back into their studies and activities. The school grounds buzzed with the sounds of laughter and chatter, signaling that it was indeed back to business as usual.

KWATHU FARM

Our chicken project has successfully reached fruition! We are excited to share that we have
just received a delightful delivery of 150 fluffy chicks for our cozy chicken house. The chirps

The Kwathu staff members and volunteers at the farm were not just visitors, but actively involved in the daily tasks! They rolled up their sleeves and got to work. They started by preparing the land for planting, then moved on to cleaning the chicken house, giving the goats a disinfectant bath, and finally, applying fertilizer to the maize crop. It was truly a team effort, with everyone pitching in to make a difference!
