The month of March 2019, has been wonderful and interesting one for Kwathu as a school. There has been outstanding attendance by our pupils. Both academic and non-academic programs, have gone as planned.
The feeding program has been so instrumental in promoting good attendance of our pupils. Due to the fact that the guardians/parents of our dear pupils are not economically stable, it is difficult for our pupils to have balanced meals at home. Most of our pupils come to school on an empty stomach, hence the school has a feeding program, which makes sure that every child is served with breakfast and lunch, on a daily basis, Monday to Friday. A total of two hundred and forty-three (243) pupils are served daily.
Since the inception of the school in 2017, our very first grade seven (7) class, had a study tour to Victoria Falls. For most of our pupils, it was their first time to visit the falls even though they were born and bred in Livingstone. This was a great opportunity for our pupils to consolidate some of the things they were taught in class about Victoria Falls.
As a school we took part in the athletic competition organized by Livingstone Independent Schools Organisations (LISO), which was held on the 22nd of March 2019 at Acacia International School. There were 19 schools in total which took part in the competition. Our boys and girls from Pre-grade, lower and upper primary, did a great job. The boys and girls dominated the activities by being in first or second position; subsequently winning the first position trophy.
The school is a blessing to many and it is because of your prayers and support that the school has moved this far. We still need your prayers and support.
Upcoming Events:
Kwathu Home will have its second fundraising boat cruise on the 25th of May. We are hoping to raise funds to buy furniture for the home. The children do not have proper couches to sit on, while the administration needs some maintenance. We invite locals to buy a ticket in support of this cause.

This month we celebrated Gertrude’s 17th birthday. She was treated to a surprise meal and a couple of presents. We are so happy to see her grow up into a beautiful young lady.
We also celebrated Tr. Matambo’s & Mama Juliana’s birthday this same month. We wish them more of God’s blessings and many more years to come.
Donations:
A very big thank you to the Gibiino family for their continued support. We just received two big boxes of donation all the way from Switzerland. Indeed, distance is not a barrier. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Support:
We continue to say thank you to our partners and supporters. This project wouldn’t be the same without your continued support. Thank you so much.
