March & April {Conviction}

Birthdays

On the 11th of March, we celebrated Gertrude’s 11th birthday.  She learned how to bake tie dye cupcakes, had a water balloon fight with the Kwathu family, and bought chips as a treat!  She had a wonderful day!

On the 13th of April, we celebrated Austin’s 10th birthday!  We spent the morning playing games and the afternoon at Hungry Lion, enjoying chicken!  He had a fun morning!

Saturdays

March and Aprilwere about Conviction: Standing up for what is right even when others do not.  Never tire of doing what is right.  2 Thessalonians 3:13.  The kids have been learning about conviction from the book of Daniel and how he remained confident in his faith in God.  It’s important that the kids learn to stand up for what is right, at school and at home, even when others do not.

In March, we had a new volunteer join Kwathu!  Brittany will be volunteering with us for 2 months.  She is excited to spend time with the kids and make an impact in their lives in any way she can.  We are blessed to have her join our team!

In April, the kids were on holiday so they had the opportunity to go on a trip to tour the airport! They had a great time!

 Highlight Child

Francis is 12 years old.  He is the oldest boy in the house and loves to sing and listen to music.  The verse the Lord gave us for Francis is Ezekial 36:26-27: I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you.  I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.  And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.  He seems to be growing up so fast.  Pray with us that Franics continues to seek the Lord in everything he does.

Prayer Requests

  • Continued provision for the Land project- that the building process continues to go well.
