Getrude’s Birthday was on 11th March. She decided to celebrate her birthday from church and dedicated the whole day to church programs. She felt like dedicating that day to the service of the Lord. Nevertheless, she had her cake and birthday presents.
Just a month after Sophia joined us at Kwathu . she celebrated her first real birthday on 14th March and she was very excited to receive Cake and other presents. She was delighted to be joined by her two young sisters, Jane and Mapalo.
Aunty Gertrude also celebrated her birthday on 28th March.
May your birthday and every day be filled with the warmth of sunshine, the happiness of smiles, the sounds of laughter, the feeling of love and the sharing of good cheer. We hope you had a wonderful day and that the year ahead is filled with much love, many wonderful surprises and gives you lasting memories that you will cherish in all the days ahead. We pray that you continue to change the lives of others with your positivity, love, and beautiful spirit. You truly are an angel, and inspiration to us all. We love you Aunty Getrude
- Kwathu Kids;
All the children are doing fine and living in harmony together. There is so much joy to see these children live in harmony as brothers and sisters in Christ.
Mapalo, Jane and Lackson are now in school. They all seem happy and are always eager to go to school every morning. Lackson and Jane are in baby class while Mapalo is in grade one.
Mercyships Visit.
On the 24th of March, we had visitors from a school called Mercyships Nursery School. They came to visit and teach their children what happens here at Kwathu Children’s Home. They had some play time and fun. Thank You for the Visit.
Support:
Thank You Tandeka e.V Stay Gold Augsburg for the great BUNGA BUNGA event which was held on the 11th of March 2017.
All proceeds are benefits of Kwathu Children’s Home, our partner organization of Tandeka e.V. The proceeds will be used towards the feeding program.
Thank you Dj Cheelo in Germany for being part of the Stay Gold Event. Twalumba Kapati
We would like to say thank you to all our friends and sponsors for your continued support toward the Kwathu Ministry. May God richly bless you.
Community Development:
An early walk to the KFH School would give you a smile when you see the children already at school enthusiastically waiting for the academic tasks lined up for them. We are glad to be able to offer education to these children who would probably not have had a chance to be educated at all.
Highlands Creative Academy School:
The 18 sponsored children are making tremendous improvement in their academic performances. They were taken into school when most of them could barely greet in English, but today they can understand and at least communicate with others in English. We are still looking for sponsors for these children and if you feel the need to sponsor any of the children please feel free to communicate with us, we shall be more than grateful.
Kwathu Shop:
We opened a Kwathu shop which has different things to sale. E.g Hand made bracelets, necklaces, drums etc… All proceeds will go to the children’s individual savings accounts so as to raise some money for their college in future.
Kwathu Arts Club:
This is Arnold C Matakala. He is a young artist who helps out with the Kwathu Children Arts Club. He has a passion for what he does and has decided to share his skills with the children and hopefully equip them with the skills required to join the Art industry and as well as help them become entrepreneurs as they are re-integrated into the society.
We really appreciate his kindness and willingness to help the Kwathu children. Some of his paintings are sold in our shop in support of kwathu.
Feeding Program:
The outside kitchen if fully functional now and all meals are being prepared in a convenient environment and with this raining season cooking outside became more easy.
We thank God that the feeding program is going on so well. We are able to feed about 250 children per day from Monday to Thursday.

Nothing much has been done this month but we are still building the volunteers/staff house. The remaining things to be done are:
