This month was blessed with so many birthdays. We had a total of 5 birthdays:
12th April: Papa Agrippa’s Birthday
12th April: Jane’s Birthday
13th April: Austin’s Birthday
18th April: Michael’s Birthday
21st April: Jerome’s Birthday
They all enjoyed their birthdays and presents. We just want to wish them all a Happy Birthday and God’s rich blessings upon their lives. Happy Birthday People!!!!!
Easter Holiday
We celebrated Easter Holiday with the people around the community. We had a number of activities lined up for the holiday. Our Kwathu Children prepared a play of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, they presented this play to the other children who came for the Easter Celebration. We also shared a meal with the people that came, this was done through our daily feeding program.
Education
It is holiday Time!!!!!!
All our children closed schools for their first term break. They performed different activities at their school closing shows and they were awarded with different certificates in their well performed subjects. We have a number of programs and activities lined up for this 4 weeks April holiday, more especially that we will be celebrating Easter!!!! All the children are pretty excited about the holiday ***they get to wake up a little bit later than usual**** ? ? ☺️ ☺️ and they cant wait for the activities lined up for them…. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?. Support
We continue to thank everyone for your continued support towards the Kwathu Ministry. It makes us happy to know that we have people around who care and would like to see the children live a better life. We just thank God for blessing and seeing us through this month. God Bless you all.
Volunteers
We would like to welcome Kith to Kwathu. She will be with us for some time. We just want to thank her for her desire to volunteer at Kwathu Ministry!
Marie has also been with us for the past three weeks and she has been a great inspiration to the children. She helped so much in the welfare of the children and she was also involved in the Feeding Program.Its sad she has to leave but we are really great full for her stay and contribution to Kwathu. We love you so much Aunt Marie
Ramona is here at Kwathu and we are looking forward to a great time with her. Welcome Aunt Ramona!!!
We were blessed to have a team from Media Village DTS working with Youth with A Mission. The team helped out with the feeding program, painted the Volunteer/staff house, mingled with the community children as well as the Kwathu Children, they also did a short play teaching us the importance of prayer and that when we are stuck in sin, only God can save us. They finally prayed for the Kwathu Family and wished us more blessings.
We just want to thank them for dedicating their time to visit and help out with our daily activities. God Bless You. ? ?
Community Development
(Kwathu Free Haven School)
Kwathu Free Haven School was among the other schools that closed for their first term break. It has been an amazing term full of exciting and joyful experiences, we thank God we managed to pull through the term and can’t wait to see the children return to school next term. They had a closing fun day where they did a number of sport activities and teacher children interactions. Thank God for the term!!!!
Highlands Creative Academy School
The kids from Highlands Creative Academy School also closed schools for their first term break. The children had organised a small show for parents to come and watch, they also did a play of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as this month is the month of Easter Holidays. They were also awarded with different certificates in each child’s best performed subject.
Feeding Program.
Thank you for the continued support, contributions and efforts towards the Feeding Program. It is always a joy to see happy and satisfied faces every after every meal. Please feel free to contribute towards this program as you will help feed a family.
Land Update
This month we were able to paint undercoat to the volunteer/ staff house. We are so grateful to the volunteer teams that came through to help us paint the building.
The following are the remaining works:
- Painting inside and outside (final Coat)
- Wiring
- Fitting doors and door handles
- Bathroom
- Kitchen
- Water Connection
- Electric wiring
- Electrical connection
