September Update

Introduction:

We thank God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon Kwathu Ministry for the past month and we ask Him to continue to bless our home and meet our needs – and we do so through the power of prayer.

Social Activities
Birthdays:

On the 8th of September we celebrated Pastor Brian’s birthday. Our birthday message to him was ‘Rejoice today and be glad for all the beautiful things the Lord has done in your life. We appreciate your efforts to be a good spiritual leader to our children and many others, for that we thank God for His presence in your life. On your special day, there is nothing better than thanking God for His mercy upon your life and may God’s grace continue to shine upon you.’

We celebrated Uncle Yande’s birthday on the 20th of September. Thank God for the gift of life and we also say thank you for the work you do around Kwathu. Your ability to create a happy environment is really inspiring. May God continue adding more years to your life and may he meet you at your point of need.

God Bless You!!

Linto participated in the Live Music Concert where they performed a number of carols. This concert was organised by the Zambia National Choir and Orchestra.

Thank you Dr. Stephen Benham and Mr. Rodger McMurrin for reaching out to Christ through your beautiful music and heart. Thank you Presbyterian School and EMIZ International for your impact in Livingstone.

We are slowly approaching the hot season and we will have so many water activities. The toddlers had their first play with water and they were so excited and they were totally cooled off.

We have two new members of the family Edward and Namonda. They are siblings and come from Kazungula District. They were brought to Kwathu as vulnerable children and we are very happy to welcome them to our big family!

Education:

On the 11th of September all schools were re-opened for the third academic term. All our children have since returned to school for their studies. The following children are in their examination classes and will be starting their exams next month:

  • Gertrude: Will be sitting for her Ninth (9) Grade Exams
  • Francis: Will be sitting for his Ninth (9) Grade Exams
  • Eustis: Will be sitting for his Ninth (9) Grade Exams
  • Willard: Will be sitting for his Seventh (7) Grade Exams

Our prayer is that God grants them the calmness as they sit for their exams and also that he helps them remember everything they learned and studied. Kindly include them in your prayers. We wish them all the best.

Support:

September saw its fair share of the love and support from different people. Their hearts were moved and decided to bless the Ministry with a number of stuff. Thank you for your kind donations. Your generosity will make an immediate difference in the lives of these children.

A BIG thank you to EVERYONE who contributed towards Christmas at Kwathu Children’s Home. All the children have been sponsored! Because of your efforts, the children will share a family meal together, be presented with a gift, a special treat for a good school report card, AND enjoy a fun holiday recreational activity! Our hearts are encouraged!

Isn’t it amazing how $15 can be stretched to love on a child?!

Volunteers:

We would like to welcome Mr. & Mrs Sand (Kith’s Dads and Mum) who have come to visit Kwathu Home for their very first time. Thank you for sparing time to come and see what the Lord is doing through this ministry. Please enjoy your stay.

We celebrated Aunty Linda‘s stay here at Kwathu as well as to say our farewells.
Linda came from Augsburg, Germany, in July to volunteer at Kwathu Children’s Home in Livingstone, Zambia. Some of her responsibilities were to help the Kwathu children with their homework, help with administration work, offer computer lessons etc. Under community development, she was greatly involved with the Kwathu Feeding Program, where we feed approximately 500 children and mothers per day. She helped with the preparations of the meals, serving the kids and cleaning up the dishes. She is a very hardworking lady with a passion to serve the needy.
She says that during her general experience here at Kwathu, she had a very good time and made so many experiences that she will never forget.

We also want to thank Uncle Dominik for taking time to come and visit our home. Even though it was just for a few days your presence made a huge difference in these children’s lives and they are surely awaiting for your return.

We thank God almighty for these beautiful souls and we thank you so much for allowing us to be part of your life’s journey. We wish you nothing more than Gods favor and mercies upon you as you enjoy the gift of life. We shall not say GOODBYE but we say SEE YOU SOON.

Community Development:

Kwathu Free Haven School:

Kwathu Free Haven Community School re-opened for their third academic term of 2017. The children were so excited to come back to school. We want to welcome everyone back to school and wish them all the best in their studies.

Highlands Creative Academy:

Our 20 external school sponsorship children are also back in school. They look forward to another exciting academic term.

Appreciation: We would like to thank the staff members of Kwathu Children’s Home and Kwathu Free Haven Community School for all the hard work and responsibilities they execute diligently for the benefit of the children to be raised in a manner they deserve.

Our prayer is that God continues to give them the strength, desire and wisdom to serve the children and community through the Kwathu Ministry. May God Bless You All.
