May 2019 Newsletter

Greeting from Kwathu Family. It has been an amazing month for us and we are so grateful to the almighty God for His blessings to us this month. Our motivation for this month was “Dream it. Wish it. Do it.” We have continuously encouraged our children to wish for better things in life and work hard towards achieving their goals.

BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!

Like all schools in Zambia, Kwathu School has today officially re-opened for the second academic term. This is after a one month resting period. The learners are excited to be back in school and seem ready for the term.

Child Focus for This Month

Born on the 20th of January is this pretty young lady named Purity. She can easily be noticed by her ever smiling attitude and kindness. Shy at times but don’t let that deceive you as she is a loud girl with traits of being a leader among her mates. She is very helpful with house chores and loves a clean environment. Nothing gives us so much joy than seeing her grow into a responsible and vibrant young lady.

Activities of the Month

Pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work. This is why Kwathu joined the rest of the nation on the 1st of May to celebrate Labor Day. We all took time off work to enjoy some quality time together as colleagues. It was an opportunity to socialize outside the work environment.

As we celebrated African Freedom day on the 25th of May, we also had a fundraising boat cruise on the Zambezi river using the Lady Livingstone boat. It was a fun filled cruise and we really thank everyone who came through to support us. We would also like to thank David Livingstone Lodge management for offering their boat to be used for the fundraiser.

Donations:

This month we received yet another donation from the Gibiino family. We have been receiving assorted items from Switzerland for the past few month. Their generosity is beyond measure.
